Problem
Shippers find trucks through phone calls and group chats, and then have no idea where their cargo is. The client wanted the whole flow, from posting a load to delivery, in one app.
What I built
I was effectively the lead mobile developer: most of the Flutter app for both the driver and the operator side.
Front · Flutter
- Shipments, offers and deliveries, with separate flows for drivers and operators.
- Live tracking on Google Maps with custom markers and routes.
- Real-time chat with audio messages, and voice and video calls through Zego.
- Clean Architecture with BLoC, so the two roles share one codebase without stepping on each other.
Behind · Integrations
- socket.io for chat and status updates; Firebase for push, Remote Config, Analytics and Crashlytics.
Hard problems
- Two apps in one — drivers and operators see different screens and permissions from the same build.
- Real-time everything — chat, calls, offers and the truck’s position all update live, across socket.io, Zego and push.
